NBA Draft Recap and Flash Seats®

veritix | June 28, 2011

The stars of the future were front and center last Thursday in Newark, New Jersey for the 2011 NBA Draft.  As part of this exciting night, many of our clients held draft parties to celebrate the new wave of players that would join their respective teams.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, which drafted Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson with the #1 and #4 picks in the draft, hosted a party at Quicken Loans Arena to benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF). All online orders featured Flash Seats® as the method of delivery.  The event concluded with more than 1,600 of the 7,500 people that attended swiping in with Flash Seats.  All proceeds generated from the party went towards CTF and research for Neurofibromatosis.

The Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz also joined the fun and hosted their own draft day parties.  The Rockets invited fans to the House of Blues Concert Hall, with guest appearances from Clutch the Mascot, the Rockets Power Dancers - and 2010 Draft pick Patrick Patterson.

The Jazz hosted a party at Energy Solutions Arena and gave fans an opportunity to receive a special edition draft shirt, draft guide and chance to win a host of prizes including Salt Lake City Bees tickets.

It was an exciting night for all NBA teams and fans alike as we look toward a successful year in 2011-2012.

In Just the First Week, Flash Seats® a Big Success at College World Series

veritix | June 23, 2011

The popularity of college baseball, coupled with the convenience and security of Veritix’s Flash Seats technology, has created an enjoyable week so far for fans attending the 2011 NCAA Men’s College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. Flash Seats has previously been used in NCAA Championships for the NCAA Men’s Final Four, but this marks the first time ever that the NCAA has used Flash Seats for baseball and the College World Series.

Taking place at newly opened TD Ameritrade Park, the NCAA and College World Series have seen firsthand the convenience that Flash Seats brings to fans.  In the opening weekend of games, more than $500,000 worth of tickets sold on the Flash Seats marketplace. Fans have also enjoyed the advantages of entering the stadium with a simple swipe of their credit card and a safe, secure NCAA-branded marketplace that allows them to buy, sell, and transfer tickets. Because Flash Seats provides one central location, endorsed and branded by the College World Series and the NCAA, for ticket purchases and transfers, fraud and counterfeit activity are prevented.

The fan acceptance of the platform is reassuring, and we look forward to providing a great experience in more NCAA events in the future.  Check back for ongoing updates and information.
