NBA Playoffs 2012

veritix | April 27, 2012

If you’re an NBA fan, this is the most exciting time of the year as the 2012 NBA playoffs tip off this weekend.  Eight teams (16 in total) from both the Eastern and Western Conference will compete against each other for a chance to meet in the NBA Finals in June.  Each round will be played in a best-of-seven series format.  The last team standing will be crowned NBA champion, staking claim to the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

We’re excited that our clients the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz will both be participating in this year’s playoffs.  The Nuggets, who are seeded sixth in the West, will face the Los Angeles Lakers.  The Jazz, seeded eighth in the West, will face the San Antonio Spurs.  (Click here to see the rest of the playoff matchups.)

Just as in the regular season, many fans will turn to our paperless ticketing system Flash Seats® for venue entry and to buy, sell, and transfer their playoff tickets.  Fans will also have the added value of knowing they are buying from a safe and secure marketplace that is endorsed by their team.  This is especially important during the playoffs with the high volume of counterfeit tickets that tend to circulate.   All primary tickets for each home playoff game will be sold through the Veritix® platform.

We look forward to what we hope is an exciting few months of basketball for our clients!

veritix | April 20, 2012

We recently expanded our ticketing business by providing primary ticketing services to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s 2012 Induction Ceremony at Cleveland’s Public Hall Auditorium. Tickets to the sold out show, which were gone within minutes and available to the public for only the second time in induction history, were exclusively sold through the Veritix platform. The event featured live performances from the 2012 Inductees which included Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the Beastie Boys among others. The event further exemplified that Veritix’s ticketing technology can be adopted for any event, large or small.

March Madness 2012

veritix | March 7, 2012

With the calendar turning to March, college basketball is at the forefront of the sports world with the 2012 Men’s and Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournaments.  The Men’s Tournament, which begins on March 13, includes a field of 68 teams that will vie for the right to play for the championship at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.  The Women’s Tournament begins on March 17 and features 64 teams that will battle to play in the championship at Pepsi Center in Denver.

Our ticketing partnership with the NCAA and select Championships has us preparing for both the Men’s and Women’s Final Fours, where once again this year, our Flash Seats® technology will ensure that students can conveniently enter the games and allocated student sections to cheer on their school by simply swiping their student ID’s.  Additionally, all primary tickets for the Final Four will be sold through the Veritix® platform.  We’ve handled student ticketing for each Men’s Final Four in the past three years in Detroit, Indianapolis, and Houston.  We look forward to an exciting few weeks of basketball and the opportunity to work with the eight lucky schools that make it to New Orleans and Denver.

Transfer & Track

veritix | February 7, 2012

Many fans spend time and money arranging ticket exchanges with family members, friends, or coworkers.  Whether it’s driving to meet someone at a specific location, shipping tickets via standard or express mail, leaving tickets at Will Call, or listing tickets for sale on multiple websites, these old methods are no longer necessary.  With Flash Seats®, the Veritix® paperless ticketing solution, seats can be transferred instantly and electronically online, anytime, in one central location. It’s easy and painless!

The Flash Seats transfer feature is unique in the ticketing industry because it allows fans to transfer tickets to anyone, as long as that person has an email address. There are no limitations or restrictions. They just pick the tickets to send and transfer away. It’s one of our most popular features, and since 2006, our system has handled more than 800,000 transfers, moving 1.3 million paperless tickets, and processed over 5.1 million total paperless transactions.  Fans are using paperless tickets at a rapid rate because of its convenience and flexibility, and the success of paperless tickets will continue to grow as more and more fans adopt this technology to manage their tickets.

Not only is it simple and easy to initiate a transfer, but the system tracks each user’s  transfer history, which is available on the Transfers tab in the system.  Information, such as the date and time of transfers, number of seats transferred, the email address seats were transferred to, and event details for the transferred seats, is tracked and shown for easy viewing and review.  This is a real timesaver for many of our users, but especially businesses.  Outside of Flash Seats, many businesses track tickets they give to clients in a spreadsheet, manually entering and managing the information. But with Flash Seats, they can throw the spreadsheet away! With all the transfer data, including seat specifics and contact information, available right on-screen on the Transfers tab, the process to track client tickets is easier and faster than ever.  Most importantly, when initiating a new transfer, the system provides a drop-down menu that displays all email addresses to which the user has ever sent tickets.  All the email addresses are saved, giving the person transferring seats easy access to past contacts. With Flash Seats, users essentially have an electronic rolodex for ticket transfers at their disposal.

For teams and venues, this transfer data provides valuable insight into fans’ behaviors.  Flash Seats is the only system that can show exactly who each person in a transfer is, when a transfer took place, and what specific seats were transferred.   Because Flash Seats paperless tickets exist only in an electronic environment, you always know who owns a ticket.  It’s permanent visibility, start to finish, and the tickets are guaranteed.

Gone are the days of paper tickets getting physically passed from friend to friend, leaving teams and venues in the dark, not knowing or understanding who used the seats.  The future is here with Flash Seats paperless tickets. Take advantage today!

Paper to Paperless Ticket Conversion

veritix | January 27, 2012

We are excited to highlight a Flash Seats® feature that allows fans to convert their paper tickets to Flash Seats paperless tickets.  Once the conversion is completed, fans can take advantage of all the benefits of the Flash Seats system including attending the event with a simple swipe of a registered electronic ID, electronically transferring seats to other individuals, and listing tickets for sale (if allowed by the venue).

The process for fans to convert to paperless tickets is simple and easy to follow in our Flash Seats system.  Fans are required to choose the number of tickets they are converting and the type of ticket to convert (Assigned Seats or General Admission), and enter ticket information, including the barcode. Tickets that are converted are only available on Flash Seats; the paper tickets become void and are no longer usable.  Once fans convert the tickets, they can start taking advantage of the great benefits Flash Seats offers.

This feature offers fans convenient, easy and secure transferability of their newly-converted Flash Seats tickets without the hassle of paper tickets. Instead of having to visit the Box Office in person or calling a Sales Representative, fans with paper tickets can now initiate the conversion directly from their computer or mobile device. Also, if fans learn they cannot attend the event last minute, the conversion will allow them to electronically transfer the seats to another person, or list their seats for sale on the marketplace.  This can be all done without having to meet in person to exchange the tickets, and everyone involved in the transfer or sale can relax knowing Flash Seats paperless tickets are legitimate and guaranteed, without the risk of fraudulent or counterfeit tickets.

For venues and artists, the feature will allow them to gain valuable marketing information.  Since the converted tickets will be on Flash Seats, venues and artists will be able to track fan habits and behaviors. Ticket purchases, transfers, sales, seating preferences, price sensitivity and attendance are tracked by the system, enabling personally-relevant marketing.  Knowing your customers is paramount, and this feature lets you gather more data about your most important asset—your fans.

Interested in giving your fans an easy way to electronically manage their paper tickets? Contact Veritix® today to find out more.
